Albert Lamar “Al” Robertson, age 72, of Stewart, passed away after a brief illness on November 19, 2024, at Diversicare Nursing Home in Eupora.
Al was born August 8, 1952, in Milford, Conn. He lived his early childhood through his teenage years in Greenwood. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Army and was stationed in numerous locations. During his military service, he was recognized with the National Defense Service Medal, Parachute Badge and Expert Badge M-16. He ended his military service in Fort Bragg, NC. After the military, he remained in North Carolina and resided in the Greensboro, NC, area. He began a career as an Over-the-road Truck Driver for many years before relocating back to Mississippi. He settled in the Stewart, Miss. area. He loved sports and fishing. He was an avid college football fan. He would watch college football all day and night. It didn’t matter who was playing, he just loved the game.
Al was preceded in death by his youngest son, Jacob Scott Robertson, father, Lee “Bud” Robertson, mother, Lucille Robertson Yates and brother Danny Robertson. He is survived by son, Nicholas Alan Robertson (Rachel) from Cameron, NC and daughter Jessica Lynn McIntosh (Dallas) from Iron Station, NC, five grandchildren, Brooke, Peyton, Charlotte, Margaret, and Parker, brothers, Terry Robertson (Nancy) of Fredericksburg, Texas, and Tony Robertson (Barb) of The Villages, Fla., and aunts Lorreta Acy of Coila, Sarah Robertson of Brandon, and uncle Albert Robertson of Brandon, and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces.
Memorial services will be held at Union Baptist Church in Stewart, on Friday, May 30, 2025, with visitation from 10:30 a.m. until 11 a.m., Chapel Service from 11 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Military Honors service will be held at the North Mississippi Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Kilmichael, from noon until 12:30 p.m.
