Political rallies this weekend

This weekend, the Winona Times and the Winona Rotary Club will host Pork and Politics at the north end of front street beginning at 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. The political rally will give state and local candidates in Montgomery County a chance to introduce themselves and tell why they should receive residents of Montgomery County’s vote.

The rain didn’t stop the Vaiden Beautification Committee’s political rally. It was held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 9 at the Vaiden Children’s Park. Several candidates running for election in Carroll County came out and spoke to those in attendance.


Turnover high at CCSD

There are some uncertainty at the present time in the Carroll County School District.  With a Superintendent search underway and other unresolved issues, School Board Member John Phillips pointed out the noticeably high turnover this year in the school district at Monday night’s meeting of the Carroll County School Board in Vaiden.
