J.Z. George High School announces its homecoming court. The Jaguars will take on Holly Springs 7 p.m. Friday. The homecoming court will be presented at 6 p.m. and the homecoming parade will take place at 11 a.m. in North Carrollton.

Robert Bailey, president emeritus of the G. V. “Sonny” Montgomery Foundation, presented Marcus Lawson, director of the North Mississippi Veterans Cemetery in Kilmichael, with a new golf cart donation. The cemetery uses the golf carts to transport visitors around the facility.

Forest won Region 5-3A last year, but there is a new kid on the block. Winona went on the road for its first region game as a 3A school and improved to 4-0 with a dominating win over the Bearcats 41-21.
“That was nice,” said coach Joey Tompkins. “1-0 is better than 0-1.”
The Tigers have scored at least 33 points in every game.
