Town’s tourism tax bill dies

The two percent tourism tax bill, that would allow the Town of North Carrollton to hold a referendum vote to enact a two percent tourism tax on prepared food and beverage sold in the town limits, did not get legislative approval during the recent session of the Mississippi Legislature.


Veterans group finds new home

CARROLLTON -- Carroll County Veterans Helping Veterans building influence in taking the organization to the next level was the topic at the Tuesday night monthly meeting. Pascagoula Mayor Dane Maxwell who serves on the White House Political Affairs Team and is a veteran himself was the guest speaker.
