An idea found on Pinterest has turned into a way transition students at J.Z. George High School can learn social skills, business skills, how to create interpersonal relationships with students, teachers and staff, and allow teachers to take a break and enjoy a cup of coffee or a cinnamon roll before getting back to teaching.

According to organizer Calbrina Woods, approximately 1,600 people turned out for the second annual Winona Fall Festival and Trunk or Treat on Halloween night in downtown Winona. Local businesses, civic groups, and churches provided games, treats, and prizes to those in attendance, and others opened trunks to Trunk or Treaters.
Montgomery County has a new sheriff and a new tax assessor/collector following Tuesday’s General Election. Jeff Tompkins was elected Montgomery County Sheriff, and Laurie Lockett was elected Montgomery County Tax Assessor/Collector.
The Montgomery County Board of Supervisors approved to spend a one-time fee of $2,400 for the installation of fire detectors in the Montgomery County Courthouse.
In addition, they will pay a monthly fee of $29.95 per month for off-site monitoring of the detectors.
