Friday, when the news that Fred’s Dollar Store in Winona was set to permanently close in 30 days, the community response ranged from outrage to deep concerns about the future of Winona.
The use of manners, to some, is a lost art. The gripe of the older generation is that the younger generation doesn’t properly use manners and has no respect for others.






City Spirit Award

The Vaiden Beautification Committee was awarded the 2019 City Spirit Award for a city under 10,000 by the Mississippi Municipal League. The committee won for the work over the past year. Voters’ League holds interactive political rally

The Montgomery County Voters’ League Political Rally wasn’t your typical rally. It was designed to see how candidates thought on their feet and how they handled being under pressure – and the League accomplished its goal.

The group held its political rally Saturday, June 29 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Montgomery County Courthouse.
