VAIDEN -- Telecommunications in Carroll County, depending on the service provider, can be nonexistent. But, the Carroll County Board of Supervisors is working to see if it can get things changes and give some relief to residents.

Casey Carpenter will move on to November’s General Election in his race for the Carroll County Chancery Clerk seat, as he defeated challenger Christy Noah in Tuesday’s runoff election.
Carpenter, 38, received 1,716 votes to Noah’s 1,064 votes.
WINONA -- Three-term incumbent Bubba Nix was unseated in Tuesday’s Primary Runoff by political newcomer Jeff Tompkins in the race for the seat of Montgomery County Sheriff.
Tompkins will now face Barry Gregg in November’s General Election.
WINONA – A Vaiden teen was honored Sunday for achieving what no other scout in the Boy Scouts of America have ever achieved – earning all 138 merit badges.
Eagle Scout James Armstrong, 17, of Vaiden was honored Sunday with a reception at the American Legion Post 52 for meeting the requirements to earn all 138 merit badges.
