The Libraries in Montgomery County will be closed December 25 and 26 for the Christmas Holiday. All libraries will also be closed Monday, January 1 for New Year’s Day. The J.Z. George basketball teams ran into a tough Region 3-3A foe last week in Humphreys County.
The HCHS teams defeated the J.Z. George boys 88-35 and the Lady Jaguars 92-28.
Humphreys County led the Jaguars 36-10 at the half. They outscored J.Z. George 51-25 in the second half. Malik Branch led J.Z. George with 11 points.
The Carroll Academy Lady Rebels reeled off three wins last week, kicking things off by beating division foe Winona 41-24 and following that up with a 37-31 win over Benton and a 63-21 blowout over Central Holmes.
The Montgomery County boys basketball team improved to 11-3 last week with wins over French Camp 71-43 and Noxapater 58-40, pushing the team's winning streak to seven.
“We're playing pretty well offensively,” said coach Frank Miller. “We're playing well together. We're hitting some crucial shots. We just have to keep pressing on.”
