Less than 24 hours after a Carroll Academy bus carrying 25 children went down an embankment on Highway 82, Headmistress Penny Mitchell said students, faculty and staff at Carroll Academy are “on the way to mending.”

A school bus carrying about 25 students from Carroll Academy ran off U.S. 82 Wednesday afternoon, slid down a 30-foot embankment and rolled onto its side after the bus driver apparently suffered a heart attack.

WMCSD to release early Friday

On Friday, November 16, 2018, Winona-Montgomery Consolidated School District will have an early release day due to transportation needs.  

The Tiger football team has advanced to the third round of the playoffs and will be traveling to Seminary, 159 miles away and approximately three hours travel by bus.  








Vest defeated by Downs for school board

Incumbent trustee for the Carroll County School Board Beat 3 Daniel Vest was defeated by challenger William E. Downs, 438 to 326.

Downs will be joined on the board by John Phillips, who defeated challenger Martha Foreman Simpson, 625 to 276.  Phillip will fill the seat vacated by Laura Davis who did not seek re-election.
