The Winona High School Tigers will take on the Coahoma County High School Red Panthers at 7 p.m. in Clarksdale.
The Winona Christian Stars will celebrate its homecoming as the Stars take on the Kirk Academy at 7 p.m. in Winona.
The Carroll Academy Rebels will celebrate its homecoming and its 50th year anniversary as the Rebels take on the Oak Hill at 7 p.m. in Carrollton.
Charleston’s Gateway to the Delta Festival
The Gateway to the Delta festival will be held Saturday, Oct. 12 on the Charleston Court Square. The Kidzone will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; there will also be a Mayor’s Fun Run; and an ever-popular car show. The entertainment will kick off at 11 a.m. with The Ellis Family, followed by The Bonfire Orchestra, The Shakerz, the David Dunavent Band, the Beale St. All-Star Band, Southern Halo, and Meet the Press. Vaiden Heritage Festival
The town of Vaiden will hold its Vaiden Heritage Festival on Saturday, Oct. 12 from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Performers will be Wilton Neal, Mary Stovall, Evangelist Carolyn Williams-Wiley and the Spiritual Stars, Eden Brent, Little Willie Farmer and DJ Marlo Givens. It’s sponsored by the Mississippi Arts Council, Entergy, Vaiden Bank and the Carroll County Board of Supervisors.
• Wilmount Missionary Baptist Church in Kilmichael will have its pastor an wife’s anniversary for Pastor and Mrs. Johnny Butts, Sunday, Oct. 13 during morning service. The speaker will be Rev. James Gee, pastor of Prospect Missionary Baptist Church.
• McCarley Baptist Church will have its annual Homecoming service on Sunday, Oct. 13. At 11 a.m., Bro. Rupert Ingram will sepak. There will be a luncheon after service.
• Wilkin Chapel Missionary Baptist Church will have its pastor and wife appreciation at noon on Sunday, Oct. 13. The speaker will be Rev. Claude Horton, pastor of Young Chapel Missionary Batist Church. Dinner will be served after service.
• The Zion District Association revival begins on Sunday, Oct. 13 at 6 p.m. The speaker will be Rev. Franklin McKinney.
