Zion Chapter No. 128 Order of the Eastern Star Spring Tea

The Zion Chapter No. 128 Order of the Eastern Star will have its Spring Tea, at 6 p.m. Friday, April 19 at the Winona Community Center on Powell Street. For more information, contact Eloise B. Forrest at 662-283-5947.

Good Friday Service at Haven United Methodist

Haven United Methodist Church will have Good Friday service 6 p.m. and Sunrise Service on Easter Sunday at 6 a.m.

Good Friday Prayer Service at Winona Baptist

Winona Baptist Church will have a Good Friday prayer service at noon on Friday April 19. It will followed by an egg hunt and a cookout. On Sunday, April 21, at 10 a.m. there will be a Youth celebration and worship service.

Saturday Happenings

BFA Fashion and Talent Show

Blessings For All Empowered by Faith, Inc. will have its fashion and talent show at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 20 at the Winona Community House. Admission is $3 and to enter into the show is $10. Trophies will be awarded to the first, second and third place winners as well as participation certificates given. Refreshments will be sold. All proceeds will go toward future community building events.

Duck Hill Library Bake Sale

The Duck Hill Library will have a Bake Sale and Book Sale from 8 a.m. until noon April 20. Help support the library and buy baked good for Easter. All books are in good condition and some are like new.

Moore Memorial Easter Egg Hunt

On Saturday, April 20, the church will have an Easter Egg Hunt at 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 20 at the Family Life Center. Bring your Easter baskets, and enjoy breakfast, crafts, face painting and more. Bring your family and friends.  On Sunday, April 21, the church will have its Easter Service at 11 a.m. on Sunday, April 21 in the church’s sanctuary.

Black Hawk School Singing

The Eddie Pilgrim Family Band and the Black Hawk String Band will perform at the Black Hawk School at 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 20th. Concessions furnished by the Black Hawk Homemakers Club..

Annual Easter Eggxtravaganza

The New Millennium Men’s Club, Blessings for All Empowered by Faith and Queens of Millennium Women will host its annual Easter Eggxtravaganza Sunday, April 21 from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. behind the old school in Duck Hill. There will be bouncers, face painting, food, games, music and a special guest appearance. The big hunt with over 2,500 hard and stuffed eggs will begin at 3:45 p.m. For more information, call Mr. White at 662-440-0324, Ms. Woods at 662-753-1659 and Mr. Campbell at 662-417-6772.

Revival Begins at Spring Hill Missionary Baptist Church

Spring Hill Missionary Baptist Church will have its Spring Revival at 6 p.m. Sunday, April 21 and 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, April 23. The speakers are, in order: Sunday- Pastor Darvis Purnell, pastor of Greater Pine Hill M.B. Church in Grenada, Monday- Pastor Leoda Topps, pastor of Auecy Chapel M.B. Church in Southaven and Pastor Tracy Foxx, pastor of Friendship M.B. Church in Calhoun City.  

Revival begins at Holly Grover Missionary Baptist Church

Holly Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Philips Road in Lexington, will have its Spring Revival Sunday, April 21 through Tuesday, April, 23 at 7 p.m. The speakers are, in order, Assistant Pastor Oliver Benit, Pastor Dan March and Pastor Lazarus Taylor. 

Pink Flower Missionary Baptist Church

Pink Flower Missionary Baptist Church will have its revival at 6 p.m. Sunday, April 21 and 7 p.m. Monday, April 22 and Tuesday, April 23. The speaker will be Rev. William M. Brown, pastor of Union Grove of Greenwood, Lockalonia of Money and First Baptist of Schlater.
