Green seeks tax assessor/ collector seat

Paid Political Announcement

Longtime real estate and tax professional Teresa Nabors Green has qualified to run for the office of Montgomery County Tax Assessor/Collector as a Democratic candidate.

Green, who has lived in Montgomery all of her life and graduated from Winona High School, is known as “Tisa” to most of those who know her. She is married to James D. Green, and the couple is blessed with two sons, Cole Green and Caleb Green, and two daughters, Holly Hardin Green and Jamee Green.  They are also the proud grandparents of Avery and Barrett Green.

For 25 years, Green has worked in real estate, carrying a license with Martha T. Bailey Realty, and for the last 23 years, she has been a contracted agent for S&S Investments and Meridian Tax Group.  Her role as a contract agent has given her invaluable experience in the inner workings of county tax assessor/collector and chancery clerk offices in 18 counties across North Mississippi.

Green said in deciding whether to seek the position of Montgomery County Tax Assessor/Collector, she thought about all the time she visited other counties and realized she could take her years of experience and expertise and help her very own community.

“It’s time to be home,” Green said.  “I feel with my 25 years of experience in real estate and property taxes that I am qualified to serve as your next Montgomery County Tax Assessor/Collector.”

In addition, Green also has expertise in the required county mapping, land usage maps and zoning, and property assessment.

“I know the laws, and I will follow the laws,” Green said.

Green said if elected she will not only do everything she can to assist the citizens of Montgomery County in the most efficient and professional way possible, but she wants her office to reflect that same commitment to public service.

“If elected, I can assure all customers entering the tax assessor/collector’s office will be treated by a courteous and helpful staff,” Green said.

Green said she looks forward to connecting with those in the community she has known her entire life and those she has not yet had the pleasure to meet.  She encourages anyone with questions, suggestions, and concerns to contact her at 662-310-5590 or email her at
