CounterDrug Task Force Training

The Winona Police Department along with the U.S. Attorney General’s Office hosted a Multi-jurisdictional Counterdrug Task Force Training class related to highway vehicle stops and drug trafficking. Approximately 80 officers from all over the state of Mississippi and surrounding states attended the class that was held at the Community House located on Sterling Street in Winona. The training will be a benefit to officers as they work to keep the roads and highways safe and will help them in removing drugs that are being transported to throughout the United States.

Chief of Police Tommy Bibbs and Chief Investigator Dan Herod thanked the U.S. Attorney General’s office for working with the Winona Police Department to bring this training to the area.

“We would also like to thank Mayor Jerry Flowers and the Winona Board of Aldermen for continuing to support the Winona Police Department,” Bibbs said. “It means a lot to us that the Mayor and Board support us and allow us to provide continued training to our officers.”
