Two teenagers were killed last night in a one-car collision on Highway 35.
According to Sergeant Ronald Shrive, Matthew Rigby, 19, of Vaiden and Patsy Cauthen, 19, of Forrest were killed when their vehicle struck a tree on Highway 35 near the Carroll/Attala county line at around 9:35 p.m.
Shrive said Rigby was driving southbound on Highway 35 in a 2017 Nissan Rogue when the vehicle left the roadway and collided with a tree.
Rigby and Cauthen, a passenger in the vehicle, were pronounced dead at the scene by Carroll County Coroner Mark Stiles.
Shrive said the accident remains under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
