Bobby Stanley Trussell, 82, of Winona died on Friday, July 20, at his home where he lived for over 50 years.
Visitation was from noon until service beagn at 2 p.m. Monday, July 23, at Oliver Funeral Home and burial was in Oakwood Cemetery in Winona. Rev. Ed McDaniel will officiate the services.
He was born on July 17, 1936 to John Stanley and Versa Sybil Daves Trussell in Choctaw County. Mr. Trussell retired after 37 years with the Winona Public Schools, serving as Industrial Arts Instructor for 10 years and Vocational Director for 27 years. During this time, he was named the Mississippi Industrial Arts Outstanding Teacher of the Year by the American Industrial Arts Association. Mr. Trussell also served in the Mississippi Army National Guard and was a member of the American Legion and North Winona Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Johnny Trussell, Cecil Trussell and James Trussell.
Mr. Trussell is survived by his wife, Mamie Tullos Trussell of Winona; daughter, Valerie Townsend and her husband, Paul IV, of Indianola; son, Trent Trussell and his wife, Stephanie, of Tupelo; brother, William Trussell of Jasper, Ala. and three grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Mr. Trussell's grandsons and nephews, Danny Trussell, Gary Trussell, Gregg Trussell, Grant Trussell, Jason Trussell, Jimmy Trussell, and Will Trussell. Honorary pallbearers will be Henry Allman, Dr. Tom Dulin, Danny Hardin, Freddie Hooper, Dwight Lollar, Bob Long, Joe Moore,
Dr. John Perry, Ted Shook, Dr. Bernard Taylor, Paul Townsend III, Oakley Trussell, Johnny Tullos, William Trussell, Lance VanHorn, and Billy Wells.
