Just like building a house, the confidence keeps rising for the young J.Z. George football team.
The Jaguars moved to 2-0 on the season with a 36-20 triumph over Hamilton High School last Friday night in Hamilton. J.Z. George returns home this week to face the West Bolivar Eagles from Rosedale.
The solution is real simple for the J.Z. George football team as the 2019 season kicks off Friday night against McAdams High School — just win.
The Jaguars suffered through an 0-11 campaign in 2018. Their last win came in the regular season finale of the 2017 season, a 26-6 victory over former district foe Amanda Elzy.
J.Z. George 2019 football team will hold Meet the Jags this Thursday beginning at 6 p.m. at the football field. Players, along with coaches and cheerleaders, will be introduced. A scrimmage game will be played following the introductions.
J.Z. George High School will conclude its spring football season with a jamboree game at Ethel High School Thursday at 5 p.m.
The Jaguars will take on Leake County, a team they will face during the regular season in 2019 on Sept. 27.
J.Z. George was represented by five young men at the MHSAA State 3A track meet held last Friday at Pearl High School.
