Carroll County Sheriff Clint Walker said he’s having trouble finding someone to transport prisoners. Chancery Clerk Casey Carpenter said he and Walker talked about the matter, and he said when a deputy has to do a transport, it leaves them short-handed.
One hundred twenty days ago, Amy Coyle and Jennifer Sprayberry, founder and co-founder of God’s House of Hope, purchased the former Montgomery County Elementary School from the Winona-Montgomery Consolidated School District.
Thursday, Superintendent of Education Jim Ray attended his first board meeting with the Carroll County School Board to a room that was standing room only. After the meeting, Ray was welcomed to the district with a reception.

Carroll County is slowly beginning to see some recovery money roll in from the flooding that happened in February 2019. Emergency Management and Civil Defense Director Ken Strachan said the county has seen some FEMA recovery money roll in.
Carroll County Board of Supervisors held a special called meeting Thursday afternoon at the Carrollton courthouse. Supervisors met with officials with Renewable Energy Solutions about their upcoming Delta’s Edge Solar Farm project.
