As many prepared to ring in the New Year Monday, they first had to brave a severe thunderstorm that bought with it tornado warnings, watches, power outages and downed trees. Thankfully, Montgomery and Carroll counties were unscathed for the most part from the storm, which came through around lunch time Monday and died down around 2 p.m.
The question of how the desegregation order will affect the Winona-Montgomery Consolidated School District is still up in the air, but the district will have to comply with how they report under the order, according to former Montgomery County Board Attorney Chynee A. Bailey.
