The Mississippi Department of Health reported Carroll County’s first case of Coronavirus last week, with a second case being reported Wednesday. As of Tuesday, six counties in Mississippi had not had any reports of Coronavirus.
To break up the monotony of being quarantined, many people are participating in a “bear hunt” around the Carroll and Montgomery counties.
Businesses, residents, and even government officials have hidden bears in windows and on porches, and parents are taking their children around to see if they can spot out the bears.
The republican primary run-off for the 2nd Congressional District republican race between Thomas Carey and Brian Flowers has been postponed until June 23, 2020 in an effort to keep down the spread of COVID-19 also known as the Coronavirus.
The primary election was initially set for Tuesday, March 31.
While many are at home because of the Coronavirus pandemic, it’s the best time to complete the United States Census.
The Census is open for many to complete now and is only a few short questions. The State of Mississippi, Carroll County, and municipalities all rely on the funding that comes from completing the Census.
