Saluting Our Vets

The North Mississippi Veterans Memorial Cemetery hosted this year’s Veterans Day Service for Montgomery County Saturday morning.  Cemetery director Mark Lawson led the service which also featured Janie Beth McRae singing the National Anthem, special music by Bennie Rigby, and a keynote address by Pastor Mark Williamson of Winona Baptist Church.









Randall remembered

Players, coaches, and cheerleaders from both Carroll Academy and Winona Christian School joined together after Friday night’s game for a prayer for Jacob Randall, a Carroll Academy senior and football player who was killed last week in a car accident.




Soldiers honored

Members and families of  Battery B, 2nd, 114th Field Artillery, headquartered in Winona and Kosciusko were honored Saturday with a dinner, entertainment, and children’s activities at the National Guard Armory in Winona.  According to organizer and Family Readiness volunteer Calbrina Woods, the celebration was planned to give the troops a specia
