Monday, I will celebrate my 45th birthday. Well, celebrate in a purely theoretical manner since I will be hard at work sending our Christmas edition to the press. However, I’m going to celebrate God’s blessing of another year in my life, another day, another memory, another moment with those I love.
The “lost week” between Thanksgiving and Christmas has got me completely out of sorts. It is two weeks until Christmas as I write this, and I’m still putting up Christmas decorations. The crunch is on once again for us in the Ferguson house.
WINONA – Thanks to the efforts of a group of people participating in the St. Jude Marathon in Memphis this weekend, more than $20,000 will go toward the care of those suffering with childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases as well as research efforts to find a cure.
WINONA – A home on Lodi Road was completely lost to fire Saturday evening.
According to Winona Fire Chief Brad Mooneyham, firefighters were dispatched to 1424 Lodi Road after a neighbor reported the fire at 5:21 p.m. He said the double-wide mobile home was fully engulfed when firefighters arrived at the scene.
CARROLLTON – A Carrollton man was sentenced to 30 years in prison for a 2017 murder.
Dameond Brown, 23, of Carrollton pleaded guilty to second degree murder in Carroll County Circuit Court Monday for the shooting death of Dreifus Holmes, 40, of Carrollton on April 30, 2017.
This past week, I was asked if my six-year-old son, Dean, was a happy child.
At first, I was taken aback. How do I answer? That is something I have never thought about, because I’ve never had to think about it. I can unequivocally say that my Dean is a happy child.
