The Carrollton Pilgrimage is set for tomorrow and Saturday, with home tours beginning at 9 a.m. both days and ending at 5 p.m. The Pioneer Day Festival will begin at 9 a.m. on the Carrollton Courthouse Square Saturday with activities planned throughout the day.
Organizers are putting the finishing touches on Carroll County’s largest event of the year – the annual Carrollton Pilgrimage and the Pioneer Day Festival.
“Everything is on track for a great week,” said Carrollton Mayor Pam Lee, who also chairs the event.
Kierra Wiggins said her son, Karson Elijah Smith, was always smiling. She said he loved to be held, play, and listen to music – especially his grandfather playing the harmonica. He loved his dog, Peanut, and his favorite foods were bread and pizza.
The unofficial letter grades for Mississippi’s public school districts and schools were released last week, and schools in Montgomery County showed improvement.
“All four schools did well,” said Dr. Teresa Jackson, Superintendent of Education of Winona-Montgomery Consolidated School District.
