WINONA -- The Montgomery County Board of Supervisors voted to keep District 2 Supervisors Keith McGee as the board president, with District 5 Supervisor Janet Harper serving as vice president. This is the second year McGee and Harper have held the board’s leadership seats.

According to Winona Chief of Police Tommy Bibbs, his officers wrote more than 100 tickets in the month of December, most of those for ignoring the speed limit.
According to Bibbs, after the Winona Board of Aldermen passed on speeding complaints from citizens to Bibbs, his officers began to pay extra attention to Winona’s roadways.
A Vaiden man is facing burglary of a building charges.
According to Vaiden Chief of Police Ickret Bennett, Benjamin “Midnight” Yancy, 53, of Vaiden has been arrested and charged with burglary of a building. He is currently waiting for his initial appearance which should be held this morning.
A New Year’s Day fire in Winona left one home with substantial damage.
According to Winona Fire Chief Brad Mooneyham, firefighters responded to a call on January 1 at 6:55 a.m. to a home at 568 Bluff Springs Road in Winona.
