Plans to build a clock tower at the intersection of Summit and Front streets in downtown Winona has taken another step toward reality. The project received a Small Municipality Grant in the amount of $150,000 from the Mississippi Development Authority this week.
WINONA – Montgomery County was awarded a Small Municipality Grant for $75,000 from the Mississippi Development Authority to go toward the construction of a covered open-air arena at the Montgomery County Coliseum.
Chancery Clerk Ryan Wood announced the award at Monday’s meeting of the Montgomery County Board of Supervisors.
The Foundry Church in Winona will begin Celebrate Recovery, a 12-step, Christ-centered program, on October 14.
According to Rita Eldridge, Celebrate Recovery’s women’s leader, the program differs from Alcoholics Anonymous because it doesn’t just focus on addiction.
WINONA – A Greenwood man remains in critical condition after being shot multiple times at a Winona restaurant.
Taurice Johnson, 40, of Greenwood remains in intensive care at the University of Mississippi Medical Center after being shot four times while dining with his wife at Waffle House in Winona early Sunday morning.
WINONA – The Federal Highway Administration informed the Montgomery County Board of Supervisors that 12 bridges in the county need “urgent maintenance.”
According to County Engineer Christian Gardner, 11 of these bridges are open for traffic and one, located on North Mission Road, is closed.
