WINONA – At Montgomery County Supervisor District 3 Willie Earl Townsend, Jr., made a motion to change a portion of Spring Hill Road to Youngs Chapel Road, however, the motion died for the lack of a second due to uncertainty of the expense to make the change.
WINONA – The board of aldermen are currently mulling proposed changes to the city’s burn ordinance.
According to City Attorney Ray Baum, proposed amendments to the ordinance include increasing the penalties on a first offense to a $500 fine and up to five days in jail and $1,000 and up to 30 days in jail for a second offense.
In his third week with Tyler Holmes Memorial Hospital, new chief administrative officer Sean Johnson is spending time getting to know his staff and the community.
“I’ve spent time with each department,” Johnson said. “I provided a list of questions to my eight managers to learn more about them and their thoughts about the hospital.”
