Funeral services for Ruth Harvey Long of Winona were at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 16, in the Lee Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following in Oakwood Cemetery in Winona. Rev. Rusty Keen officiated the services.
Visitation was Monday, June 16, from 9:00 a.m. until service time, at Lee Funeral Home.
Mrs. Long, 97, died of heart failure at Winona Manor on Friday, June 13. She was born in Itta Bena on February 7, 1917, to Moss and Ruby Durham Harvey. She was a retired bookkeeper for Winona Stockyard and a longtime faithful member of Moore Memorial United Methodist Church in Winona. She enjoyed quilting, flower gardening, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ford Long; and two daughters, Gail Long and Anita Long Blaylock.
Mrs. Long is survived by her son, Bob Long and wife, Marsha, of Winona; five grandchildren, Bob Long, Jr. of Winona, Bryant Long of Winona, Brandon Long (Danielle) of Winona, Chris Blaylock (Deanna) of Madison, and Billy Blaylock (Anna) of Madison; and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Bryant Long, Brandon Long, Chris Blaylock, Billy Blaylock, Grey Blaylock, and Tommy Reid.
