WINONA -- Funeral services for James Edward "Cuz" Blaylock of Winona were held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 25, at Oliver Chapel, with burial following in New Hope Methodist Cemetery in Winona. Rev. John L. Walker officiated the services.
Visitation was Tuesday, November 24, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., at Oliver Funeral Home. Oliver Funeral Home of Winona was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Blaylock, 82, died of heart failure on Sunday, November 22, 2009, at Delta Regional Medical Center in Greenville.
Mr. Blaylock was the son of the late James Leslie and Blanche Elmore Blaylock. He was a retired welding foreman with Screw Conveyor Company in Winona and a member of New Hope United Methodist Church in Winona. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Blaylock was preceded in death by a daughter, Sue Garrett; and a son, Ronald Gene Blaylock.
Survivors include his daughter, Beth Herring of Winona; son, Donald E. Blaylock of Winona; sister, Eudene Kerr of Winona; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two nieces.
Pallbearers were Brad Weeks, Bryan Herring, Rodney Keenum, Chad Keenum, Leslie Blaylock, and Joel Blaylock.
