Preparation for the Christmas Parades in Carroll County towns is underway as Vaiden, Carrollton and North Carrollton set dates and times for the event.

The holiday celebration will begin in Carrollton and North Carrollton. The parade has been scheduled for December 1 at 6 p.m. with new attractions to the parade as well.

According to Carrollton/North Carrollton Parade Committee Chairman Laura Curry, the date of the parade was selected due to Vaiden and Winona parades both being on September 5.

Line up for the parade will take place at the usual Lexington Street site near the Carrollton Community House and will disperse at the J.Z. George and the Carroll County Recreation Park.

Curry said new musical attraction will been added to the parade that will please the audience.

"We will have the J.Z. George Marching Band to play in the parade this year," Curry said.

According to Curry, this will be the first time the new band will perform in the parade.

Like last year, Curry said no four wheelers and all-terrain vehicles are not allowed in the parade.
