The Town of Kilmichael will hold a Unity Rally on Saturday, September 26, 2009, from 4 to 6 p.m. on the Kilmichael Square.

According to Mayor Ryan Wood, everyone in the Kilmichael community is invited to attend and enjoy food and entertainment.

“We will have free hamburgers and hotdogs and drinks,” Wood said.

The rally will kick off with an address from Wood in an effort to promote working together toward a better future for Kilmichael.

“The idea for the event came about to let the people know a little more about me, and to bring everyone together to try to promote the community working together,” Wood said. “I also want to tell them what direction I am planning on heading in.”

Wood, who was elected to his first-term as mayor in June, also has booked entertainment for the evening. The Kilmichael Male Choir, the Youngs Chapel women’s choir, the Eiland sisters, and Roger Cox and Tyanne Newsom will all perform.
