WINONA -- The Winona Christian Lady Stars plan to kick it up a gear as they make a push for the post season.

“The top three teams get into the playoffs, and they know what they have to do,” Lady Stars assistant Leroy Castille said.

On Tuesday, the Lady Stars climbed to 2-2 in 1-AA play as they defeated Clarksdale 9-1 and also improved to 12-9 on the season.

Megan Macko went 3 for 4 in the contest, and Caitlyn Castille went 2 for 4. Brooke Farmer finished the game with two RBIs, and Anna Oliver had two hits, pitching a two-hit complete game.

The Lady Stars head to the Holmes Community College tournament Saturday, then return home next week when they face 1-AA rival Indianola, in hopes of gaining leverage in district play.
