CRUGER -- Funeral services for Mrs. Odell Holeman Ratliff were 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 14 at Williams and Lord Funeral Home in Greenwood.
Mrs. Odell Holeman Ratliff, age 74, died Monday August 11, 2014 at her residence after a long illness.
She was born in Leflore County August 29, 1939 to the late Eugene and Catherine Stone Holeman. She graduated from Tchula High School, and she and her husband owned and operated Stanley’s Department Store for 25 years. She was a member of Cruger Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and was involved in all church activities. She was preceded in death by a son, Gary Ratliff and a grandson, John Allen Ratliff.
Visitation was 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at Williams & Lord Funeral Home in Greenwood. Funeral Services were 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 14 at Williams & Lord Funeral Home with Reverend Tom McLaughlin officiating.
Pallbearers were Gary Ratliff, Jr., Chris Ratliff, Ray Ratliff, Micajah Sturdivant, Michael Thompson, James Locke, Buster Holeman and James Hunter. Burial was in Harmony Cemetery in Carroll County.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Dennis Ratliff, Sr. of Cruger; two sons, Dennis Ratliff, Jr. and wife Deborah and Danny Ratliff and wife Carol, both of Cruger; a daughter, Cathy Thompson and husband Louie of Thornton; a brother, Marvin 'Red' Holeman of Cruger; two sisters, Weecie Daves of Black Hawk and Margie Ferro of Flint, Mich.; 11 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
