Dale F. Pacillo 52, of Auburn, N.Y., formerly of Vaiden, passed away Saturday, July 19, 2014, at Auburn Community Hospital.
Born in Amsterdam, New York, on May 14, 1962, Dale was the son of the late Michael and Myrtle Waterbury Pacillo. He was a graduate of SUNY Cobleskill, where he earned a degree in math. He proudly served his country with the US Navy Seabees, NMCB 7, Gulfport.
He was employed as a Resident Engineer with McFarland & Johnson of Binghamton, N.Y.
From a young age through his military years, he was involved in wrestling. In more recent years he still enjoyed going to watch wrestling matches.
Dale was a pastor while in Mississippi. He truly loved the Lord and was able to find the good in everyone.
He is survived by his wife Dianne Matuszak Pacillo, his children, that knew him as a #1 Dad, daughter, Melissa Pacillo of Vaiden; sons, Ryan and Joshua Pacillo of Vaiden; step daughters, Michayla Matuszak of Auburn, N.Y. and Marissa Joyce of Cortland, N.Y.; stepson Andy Joyce of Camden, N.Y.; grandson Andrew Joyce; sisters Sharon Griffin and Dorothy LaPorte, both of Amsterdam; brothers Michael, Edward, and Frankie Pacillo, all of Amsterdam, and Andy (Nelda) Pacillo of La.; nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held at Lakes Church, 138 E. Genesse St., Auburn, N.Y., Wednesday, July 23rd from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with the service following. After the service, burial with military honors was in Soule Cemetery, and a reception followed at Lakes Church. A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 24th at 12:00 p.m. at Step of Faith Church, 54 VanDerveer St., Amsterdam, N.Y., and a Celebration of Life Reception will be held at 556 Mohawk Drive, Fonda, N.Y., the home of Brett Butler.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Dale F. Pacillo may be made to Lakes Church, Auburn, or Step of Faith Church, Amsterdam. White Chapel Funeral Home, 197 South St., Auburn, N.Y., is in charge of arrangements.
