Funeral services for Ruby Jean Denton of Eskridge were at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 8, in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following in Pine Forest Cemetery near Lodi. Rev. Terry Corley and Rev. John L. Walker officiated the services.

Visitation was Monday, July 7, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m., at Oliver Funeral Home.

Mrs. Denton, 71, died of heart failure at her residence on Saturday, July 5. She was born on November 2, 1942, in Manila, Arkansas, to the late Lee and Elzee Ferguson Russell. She was a homemaker and a member of Pine Forest Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Carley Anna Denton.

Survivors include her husband, Bill Denton of Eskridge; daughters, Teresa Cummings of Eskridge, Tina Denton of Eskridge, and Patricia Ann Palmertree of Lubbock, Texas; son, Bill Denton, Jr. of Ackerman; sisters, Jewell Vail of Carraway, Ar., Betty Davis of Delores, Colo., Dorothy Roberts of Vicksburg, and Flora Williams of Vicksburg; brother, Alvin Russell of West Plains, Mo.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Pallbearers were Archie Blair, Norman Williams, Olan Lehman, Charlie Cummings, Caden Lehman, and Jerry Denton.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Paralyzed Veterans of America, or LeBonheur Children's Hospital.
