HORN LAKE - William Eugene 'Gene' Wilson, age 80, died Thursday June 26, 2014 at Golden Living Nursing Home in Southaven from cancer.
He was born in Cave City, Ar. February 28, 1934 to the late Clay and Elsie Crow Wilson and had been a resident of Horn Lake for the past 13 years. He was a graduate of Cave City, Ar. Public School, served in the U.S. Army and was of the Methodist faith. He was a Highway and Construction Engineer, worked for J.J. Ferguson for 24 years and then retired from M & H Construction Company after 13 years.
Visitation was from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 30, 2014 at Williams & Lord Funeral Home in Greenwood. Funeral services were at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Mount Pisgah Cemetery in Carroll County with Reverend Dennis McKay officiating.
Pallbearers were friends of the family. Burial was in Mount Pisgah Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Jackie Wilson of Horn Lake; four sons, William E. Wilson, Jr. of Horn Lake, James Wilson of Horn Lake, Matthew Wilson of Southaven and Richard Colvin, II of Venice, Fla.; one daughter, Pshone Colvin Grace of Gluckstadt; one brother, Tommy Wilson of Ward, Ar.; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
