“Winona was great to me, and I wish the kids the best of luck and success,” Cook said Tuesday.
Cook, 48, will head to South Pontotoc as the Cougars’ defensive coordinator and the powerlifting coach.
As a soccer coach in Winona, he saw the postseason four out of five years and said the winning seasons were some of his best memories here.
“We had some great seasons in Winona, and the kids worked very hard,” Cook said. “I’ve enjoyed the family atmosphere and camaraderie I shared with everybody.”
Cook will make his return to Winona on October 18 when South Pontotoc comes to Winona for homecoming.
