Funeral services for Ora Bernice Cauthen of Vaiden were at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 31, in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following in Midway Cemetery near Vaiden. Rev. George Felts and Rev. Greg Thornton officiated the services.
Visitation was Friday, May 30, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m., at Oliver Funeral Home.
Mrs. Cauthen died at Tyler Holmes Memorial Hospital in Winona on Tuesday, May 27. She was 77 years old.
Mrs. Cauthen was born in Carroll County on June 1, 1936, to John William and Mary Christine Noah Boone. She was a homemaker and a former employee of J. A. Olson Company. She also worked as a waitress at the Carmack Fish House. Mrs. Cauthen was a member of Shiloh Independent Methodist Church near Vaiden. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cauthen was preceded in death by a sister, Sara Cochran; a brother, James Boone; and a granddaughter, Chassie Holifield.
Survivors include her husband, Ben M. Cauthen of Vaiden; three daughters Theresa Cauthen of Oxford, Nancy Sisney of Kosciusko, Barbara Smith of Grenada; four sons, Walter Cauthen of Vaiden, Terry Cauthen of Vaiden, Tim Cauthen of Waynesboro, Cody Cauthen of Vaiden; two sisters, Margaret Lovie Jeffers of Baker, Fla., and Janice Kelley of Vaiden; eleven grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchilden; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Ricky Sisney, Rickie Corley, Greg Kelley, Jerry Rigby, Devin Wenn, Steven Mann, and Mason Wenn.
