GREENWOOD - Estelle Lee Peacock, age 86, died on Tuesday May 27, 2014 at her residence. She was born on February 24, 1928 to the late J.T. and Lela (Cummins) Lee in Schlater and resided in the Greenwood area most of her life. She was a graduate of Schlater High School, and retired after 22 years of service at Greenwood Leflore Hospital in the Emergency Room, and also worked at area nursing homes. She was a member of Schlater Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Sidney Peacock, Sr.; daughter, Deborah Peacock Dorrough; two brothers, John Thomas Lee and Joe Allen Lee.
Visitation was held Thursday, May 29 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Williams & Lord Funeral Home in Greenwood. Funeral services were held Thursday, May 29 at 2:00 p.m. graveside in McNutt Cemetery with Rev. Lanny Haley officiating. Burial was in McNutt Cemetery in Schlater. Pallbearers were Brandon Peacock, Adrian Peacock, Dylan Peacock, Tanner Peacock, David Harris, and Bobby Vance.
She is survived by a son, Sidney Peacock, Jr. and his wife Laura of Greenwood; six grandchildren, Brandon Peacock, Adrian Peacock, Marlow Dorrough, Audra Dorrough, Melinda Myers, Ashley Harris, and ten great grandchildren.
