Funeral Services for Edward Brooks Jenkins, 85, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, formerly of Greenwood, were held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, April, 23, at Oliver Funeral Home in Winona with Doug Segars officiating. Burial followed in Huntsville Church of Christ Cemetery in Montgomery County.

Brooks died April 19, 2014, in Tulsa Oklahoma. He was born February 25, 1929, in Montgomery County to William Gladys and Frances Lenora (Brooks) Jenkins.

From 1948-1951, Brooks served in the Navy aboard the USS Buck during the Korean War. In 1950, he married Edna Earl Daughety. Upon discharge, he began his work career with AT&T and retired from South Central Bell in 1985. For the next 20 years, Brooks and "Miss Earl" traveled the United States in their motor home fulfilling a lifelong dream of seeing the country. Brooks was a member of West President Church of Christ in Greenwood.

He is survived by his son, Craig (Dian) Jenkins of Tulsa, OK, and daughter, Linda (Tony) Bowles of Tyler, Texas. He was "Grandpa Sippi" to four granddaughters: Jennifer (Bobby) Locke of Baytown, Texas, Rachel (Wade) Sorensen of Shalimar, Florida, Kellie Bowles and Cassidy Bowles of Tyler, Texas; and two great grandchildren: Olivia and Jackson Locke. He is also survived by two brothers: Gene (Zanice) Jenkins of Winona and Farris (Frances) Jenkins of Carrollton; sisters in law, Evelyn Noonan, Dorris Montgomery and Brownie Nail; and brothers in law, Billy (Doris) Daughety and Jimmy (Susan) Daughety.

Brooks was predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Edna Earl Daughety Jenkins and his parents, Gladys and Frances Jenkins.

Pallbearers were Roy Brooks, Jimmy Daughety, Murry Greenlee, Bruce Jenkins, Bobby Locke, Fred Palmertree, Wade Sorensen, and honorary pallbearer, Billy Daughety.

Visitation was Tuesday, April 22, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Oliver Funeral Home and on Wednesday, April 23, from 9:00 a.m. until service time, at Oliver Funeral Home in Winona.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Brooks' name can be made to Huntsville Church of Christ Cemetery Fund, 928 Hwy 407, Winona MS 38967.
