On a cold windy night in Rolling Fork Tuesday, the Carroll Academy Rebels withstood the elements and stayed undefeated in 4-A play.

The Rebels knocked off Sharkey-Issaquena Academy 11-0 in six innings Tuesday, behind a shutout by junior hurler Payton Neal.

"Payton [Neal] came in and did a solid job for us," head coach Neil Turner said. "That's exactly what we needed."

Neal also went 4-4 at the plate, and Colby Harper had a stellar performance with two RBIs. Turner said Jordan Bell also had a great game.

The Rebels are currently 3-7 on the season, and Turner said the Rebels are coming along at the right time, with only a few district games remaining.

"Knock wood, everybody is healthy," Turner said. "We're sitting in good shape right now. The pitching is coming right along, and we're getting better at-bats."

The Rebels play host to SIA Thursday before finishing out district play against Central Holmes next week and preseason number one Benton.
