Funeral services for Claudette Williams of Poplar Creek were at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 14, at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following in Bethany Cemetery near Poplar Creek. Dr. Duran Palmertree officiated the services.
Visitation was Thursday, March 13, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., at Oliver Funeral Home.
Miss Williams died of cancer at University Medical Center in Jackson on Tuesday, March 11. She was 60 years old.
Miss Williams was disabled and a member of Bethany Church of God. She was preceded in death by her father, David Allen Williams; and a sister, Martha Kay Williams Adkins. She is survived by her mother, Erna Lee Williams of Poplar Creek; three sisters, Margaret Bankston of Poplar Creek, Mavis Mooney of Stewart, and Norma Jean Crouch of Winona; three brothers, Mike Williams, J. B. Allen Williams, and Willie Gene Williams, all of Poplar Creek; and a special niece, DeeDee Bankston.
Pallbearers were Mack Williams, Gary Williams, Ted Williams, Michael Ted Williams, Justin Green, and Kenny Palmertree. Honorary pallbearers were Kelvin Robertson, Jonathan Sadler, and Terry Williams.
