The season has come to a close for the Carroll Academy Lady Rebels, who won a school-best 30 games this season.

The Lady Rebels lost 61-49 to The Veritas School in the semifinals of the Class A state games last Friday, where the Lady Rebels played Hebron in the consolation game Saturday.

The Lady Rebels beat the Lady Eagles in the North Central Tournament, but it was the Hebron girls that walked away with a 62-48 victory Saturday.

Hebron trailed 18-12 after the first period, but outscored the Lady Rebels 19-3 in the second for a 31-21 lead. Hebron outscored the Lady Rebs 31-27 in the second half.

"We just didn't have any legs left," girls coach Brandi McDaniel said. "I'm very proud of this team."

Sydney Claire Liddell and Madison Womble had 13 points each for the Lady Rebels, who finish 30-15.

Friday, Cori McCrary led Carroll with 16 points, and Sarah Mumme had 12 points.

McCrary was named to the all-state tournament team.

The Lady Rebels went to the state tournament as the number one seed from District 4 after winning both their district at Sharkey-Issaquena and the Class A North Central Tournament at Benton.

Madison Womble, Bailey Marett and Cori McCrary were all named to the all-tournament team. In the district tournament, McCrary and Womble were both named to the all tournament team and Liddell was named MVP of the district tournament.
