GREENWOOD - Selma Sue Story, age 90, died Sunday, February 23, 2014 at Golden Age Nursing Home from heart failure.
She was born in Clearwater, South Carolina August 8, 1923 to the late Sam A. and Calla Williams Lovett and had been a resident of Greenwood since 1958. She was a homemaker and lived at Golden Age Nursing Home the past eight years. Was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Jack Story; three sons, Wayne Story, Jack Story and Roy Story; a brother, Jack Lovett; and two sisters, Delia Ward Harris and Helen Gunter.
Visitation was 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 25 at Williams & Lord Funeral Home in Greenwood. Funeral Services were 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in Lehrton Cemetery in Ruleville with Reverend John Shackleford officiating.
Pallbearers were Zac Story, Jeff Story, Danny Mullen, Terry Wayne Campbell, Christopher Campbell, J.J. Story, Jr. and Jack Story. Honorary Pallbearers were Dr. William Jones and Dr. Folk. Burial was in Lehrton Cemetery.
She is survived by two daughters, Teresa Brown of Batesville and Sue Utz of Phoenix, Ariz.; 14 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; and 11 great great grandchildren.
