Funeral services for Mrs. Dwight Fulton Blakely of Coila were at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 26, at Coila Baptist Church in Coila, with burial following in Coila Cemetery. Rev. Bob Blakely and Rev. Perry Irvin officiated the services.
Visitation was Tuesday, February 25, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., at Coila Baptist Church; and on Wednesday, from 10:00 a.m. until service time, at the church.
Mrs. Blakely died of heart failure at Regency Hospital in Jackson on Monday, February 24. She was 79 years old.
Mrs. Blakely was a homemaker and a retired employee of Walmart. She was an active member of Coila Baptist Church and served on the Joint Executive Committee of the Carroll-Montgomery Baptist Association. She enjoyed cooking and gardening and was an inspiration to all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Billy B. Blakely; son, Keith Blakely; parents, Harrison Silas and Willie Maude Daniels Fulton; sisters, Mary Ann Fulton and Peggy Fulton Green; and brothers, Dewayne "Sonny" Fulton and Billy Eugene Fulton.
Survivors include her children, Lisa Blakely Cheek and her husband, David, of Coila, Bobby Blakely of Coila, and Bob Blakely and his wife, Shannon, of Madison; grandson, Jason Blakely and his wife, Leslie, of Maben; great-grandchildren, Dylan and Lindsey Blakely of Maben and Whitley Blakely of Madison; brothers, Dan Fulton and his wife, Frances, of Louise, Dr. Rudolph Fulton and his wife, Pat, of League City, Texas, and Robert Fulton of Yazoo City; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Mike Wiltshire, Brad Wiltshire, Jimmy Ray Everett, Donnie Sudduth, Steve Gregg, David Holliman, Jason Woods, and Jeremy Beckwith.
