WINONA -- It's another 20-win season under Winona head coach Evinn Beck, but the season is far from over.

After knocking off Noxapater in their season finale last week in Winona, the Tigers went to the 4-3A tournament held at the Mississippi University for Women in Columbus. The Tigers started district tournament play with a 66-56 win over Louisville.

Tony Taylor, the lone senior, lead the way with 27 points.

Next up for the Tigers will be Aberdeen, a team that split with Winona during the regular season.

"We have to defend," Beck said. "If we do that, we'll be fine."

Beck said he wants to see the Tigers take care of the ball, while continuing to play smart with a lot of heart."

The Tigers improved their record to 21-6 on the year and it's Beck's third time out of four season with over 20 wins.

In their regular season finale against Noxapater, the Tigers defeated the Lions 76-25. Senior Tony Taylor poured in a game high 30 points.
