Former Winona Christian standout pitcher Brady Chambley started his college career with a bang.

A day after being named MACJC Pitcher of the Week, Chambley, a freshman at Itawamba Community College, was named National Pitcher of the Week by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).

"It's a great honor to get this recognition, but it's not all about me," said Chambley. "It's about the team and how hard we worked throughout the fall with all the days we put in."

The southpaw faced 27 batters, gave up six hits, no runs, two walks and had four strikeouts in a complete game shutout victory in his collegiate debut against Calhoun Community College on Saturday.
