GREENWOOD - Franklin Ricks, age 82, died on Tuesday February 11, 2014 at Crystal Health and Rehab in Greenwood of heart failure.
He was born in Carroll County May 17, 1931 to the late Edward and Lennie (Vance) Ricks and resided there all of his life. He was the former co-owner of Malouf Deli and worked at the Greenwood waste water treatment plant. He was a member of Crestview Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vera Mae Cassidy Ricks and a son, Terry Allen Ricks.
Visitation was 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 13, 2014 at Williams & Lord Funeral Home in Greenwood. Funeral services were at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Williams & Lord Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis McKay officiating.
Burial was in Crestview Baptist Cemetery in Carroll County. Pallbearers were Cory Vining, Andy Vining, Bill Herod, Jimmy Lord, Woody Whites, and Joe Vidourik.
He is survived by a son, Ricky Ricks of Louisville, Ky.; a daughter, Jan Ricks Vining of Greenwood; a sister, Gail Allen of Muscle Shoals, Ala.; four grandchildren, Brittany Ricks, Sarah Ricks Vidourik, Cory Vining, and Andrew Vining; and three great grandchildren, Rebecca Faith Vining, Madison Reese Vining, and Grayson Vidourik.
