GREENWOOD - Evonne Louise Roberts, age 74, died on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Crystal Health and Rehab in Greenwood. She was born on July 2, 1939 to the late George and Mary (Myers) Leonard in Morgan City. She attended school in Lynn and was a graduate of Colson Business College. She was a homemaker and a secretary for Roberts Septic Tank. She was a member of Black Hawk Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening, cooking, and taking care of homeless animals. She was preceded in death by a brother, Jim T. Leonard.

Visitation was held on Monday, February 3 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Williams & Lord Funeral Home in Greenwood. Funeral Services were held Tuesday, February 4 at 2:00 p.m. at Williams & Lord Funeral Home in Greenwood with Dr. Zane Hodge officiating. Burial was at Roberts Memorial Garden in Carroll County. Pallbearers were Hank Roberts, Danny Brice Roberts, Forrest Hodge, Staige Roberts, James McDaniel, George McDaniel, Paul Turner, and Andy Hammons. Honorary pallbearers were Richard Ayers, Penny Roberts Hodge, and Andrea H. Turner.

She is survived by her husband, Ellis H. Roberts of Greenwood; a daughter, Penny Roberts Hodge of Greenwood; two sons, Danny Brice Roberts of Nashville, Tenn. and Hank Roberts of North Carrollton; a sister, Alice Lea Ayers of Holcomb; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
