ELKHART, IND. -- Kevin Charles Whatley, Sr., 58, of Elkhart, Ind., passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2014 at his home. He was born July 6, 1955 in Mineral Wells, Texas to the late Thomas and Pamala (Moss) Whatley.
On July 6, 1991 in Greenwood he married Clara J. Flowers. She survives along with three children, Dana (Ray) Thornburg of Greenwood, Kevin C. (Michelle) Whatley, Jr. of Coila, Jonee Whatley of Elkhart, Ind.; four grandchildren, Miranda, Kacey, Kevin, Zoe; one sister, Pauline (George) Perkins of Greenwood and a brother, Michael (Christi) Whatley of Hot Springs, Ar. He was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Whatley.
Kevin was a member of the Northside Baptist Church; he enjoyed landscaping and fishing and collected food for many of the area food banks. He was employed as a supervisor at Robert Weed Plywood in Bristol.
Visitation was for one hour prior to the 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 30, 2014 Memorial Service at the Northside Baptist Church. Pastor Carl Henry presided. An additional Memorial Service will be held on Saturday February 8, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Liberty Baptist Church (Jefferson Community) in Carroll County. Pastor Gary Tanner will preside.
