With one game remaining, the Carroll Academy Rebels and Lady Rebels will start a new season - the district tournament at Sharkey.

The Lady Rebels will face Tri County Friday night and will head into the 4-A tournament with a first round bye.

The Lady Rebels, 24-11, hope to get back senior Bailey Marett, who has missed the past two contests with a bad ankle sprain.

District play begins Tuesday, and the Lady Rebels will play the winner of the Central Holmes and Humphreys Academy game Thursday.

For the boys, the Rebels fell to 8-19 after falling to Kirk Monday 39-30 in Carrollton. The Rebels got ten points from Timmy Mumme and nine points and seven assists from Payton Neal.

Heading into the district tournament, the Rebels will go in as the fourth seeded team and will face the number five Humphreys Academy. The winner of the matchup Tuesday will face the one seed Benton Thursday.

"I'm telling the players that this is a new season," Kelly said. "The chapter is written; now it's time to read the book."
