The Winona Lady Tigers have climbed to 5-7 on the season. Last week, the Lady Tigers got a win over Tupelo, a loss to Greenville St. Joseph and stay in the middle of the Region 2.
The Lady Tigers, with five games remaining, will look to stay on top of the Region 2 rankings where they compete with North Pontotoc, South Pontotoc, Tupelo Christian and St. Joe.
Head coach James Colbert said the mission for the girls is simple with five games remaining.
"We have to maintain focus," Colbert said. "We're getting better; we just have to stay focused."
The Tigers, winners of their last two, are coming off victories over Tupelo Christian and Greenville St. Joe.
The Tigers knocked off TCPS 4-0 behind three goals from Ryan Parkerson and a shutout victory over the Fighting Irish 1-0. Parkerson scored the lone goal in that game.
"We're just very young, but these guys are coming around now," head coach Rod Cook said. "I think we'll be in the mix of things as the season continues."
Winona travels to Kosciusko tomorrow and returns home on Jan. 24 against South Pontotoc in their final home game.
